Back Channels

During the move to online COVID teaching, both teachers and students discovered one new feature that they really liked–chat. Students listed it as one of the three things they most wanted to retain post-COVID. But a back channel allows more than just private communication, discussion threads, reminders or questions–polling, quizzes, word clouds and jam boards all create more active learning. Here are some new tools to consider as you move back to F2F teaching. Virtually all are free.
